After Pager and Electronic Device Explosions, Israel Launches Major Airstrike on Lebanon, Destroying Several Targets

Last night, Israel carried out a massive airstrike on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, destroying several key sites of the terrorist organization. In response, Lebanon and Hezbollah retaliated against Israel.

Jerusalem
: Following the chaos allegedly caused by explosions in pagers and electronic devices in Lebanon, the Israeli military launched a major airstrike last night. Several Hezbollah targets were destroyed in the attack. The Israeli military said it used artillery and jets to target multiple locations in southern Lebanon. Last week, Israel had also conducted a large-scale attack on Hezbollah's communication equipment, further escalating tensions between the two sides.

The military stated that the airstrikes targeted Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, including areas like Chihine, Taybeh, Blida, Meiss al-Jabal, Aitaroun, and Kfar Kila. They also hit a Hezbollah weapons storage facility in the Khiyam region. Israeli media reported that in retaliation, anti-tank missile attacks from Lebanon injured several Israeli civilians, although no official confirmation has been made. These latest Israeli strikes have raised concerns about escalating conflict along the southern Lebanese border, where the Israeli military has been fighting Iranian-backed Hezbollah for months.

Hezbollah’s Retaliation

After the explosions in pagers and electronic devices and the destruction of several of its positions, Hezbollah retaliated on Wednesday by firing around 20 shells into Israel, most of which were intercepted by air defense systems without causing any damage. Around 10 missiles were launched at the Mount Hermon area of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, where Israel's major surveillance, intelligence, and air defense installations are located. Earlier this week, dozens were killed and thousands injured in a sophisticated attack targeting communication devices used by Hezbollah operatives. Israel has not directly commented on the attacks, which several security sources have attributed to its intelligence agency, Mossad.
