Florida Highway Crash Claims Lives of 2 in Private Jet



Two people lost their lives in a private jet crash on the Florida highway. Robin King, the spokesperson for the airport, stated in a release, "Two minutes before the plane took off from Naples Municipal Airport, the pilot informed the air traffic control via radio that both engines had malfunctioned, and he requested an emergency landing."

On Friday, a private jet crashed on the Florida highway, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The Federal Aviation Administration, in a post on its website, provided information about the incident, stating, "A Bombardier Challenger 600 with 5 people on board crashed near Interstate 75 in Naples around 3:15 PM."

Airport spokesperson Robin King mentioned in a statement, "Two minutes before the plane took off from Naples Municipal Airport, the pilot informed the air traffic control via radio that both engines had malfunctioned, and he requested an emergency landing."

"When the pilot announced that he couldn't make it to the runway, the air traffic controller immediately granted permission for the plane to land... (and) an attempt was made to land on I-75." King reported that three people survived the incident. Meanwhile, the Collier County Sheriff's Office confirmed the deaths of two victims.

Images circulating on local media showed the burning wreckage of the plane on the side of the highway, with black smoke rising. King mentioned, "It had departed from Ohio State University Airport."

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the accident.
