Tensions have been evident between North and South Korea. Recently, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un conducted a ballistic missile test, shaking the nerves of Japan, South Korea, and the United States with missile tests before the year 2024. Amidst this, a significant statement has come from Kim Jong-un regarding reconciliation with South Korea.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un stated that his country will not attempt reconciliation with South Korea and appealed to rewrite North Korea's constitution to eliminate the idea of shared prosperity among nations divided by war. This historic step comes amid escalating tensions in the region, ending decades-old efforts for reunification based on the sentiment of shared national unity between the two Korean nations. According to the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) of North Korea, North Korea has also abolished key government organizations related to maintaining relations with South Korea.

A major decision was made in the North Korean parliament

The decision to terminate agencies related to dialogue and cooperation with South Korea was made in a parliamentary meeting of the country on Monday. The Supreme People's Assembly stated in a statement that there is now a "serious confrontation" between the two Korean countries, and it would be a big mistake for North Korea to consider South Korea as a participant in its diplomacy.

The Assembly stated in a statement, "Committees for peaceful reunification made for dialogue, consultation, and cooperation with South Korea, the National Economic Cooperation Bureau, and the International Tourism Administration are abolished."

Allegations of increasing tension on South Korea

KCNA stated that during a speech in parliament, Kim accused South Korea and the United States of increasing tension in the region by conducting joint military exercises, deploying strategic military assets of the United States, and their trilateral security cooperation with Japan.

Kim said that it has become impossible for North Korea to discuss reconciliation and peaceful reunification with South Korea. He appealed to the parliament to rewrite the country's constitution to define South Korea as North Korea's "main enemy and unchanging major enemy."

North Korea will erase all symbols of friendship

He specifically demanded the cutting of the cross-border railway line and the demolition of the monument in Pyongyang, which was built in honor of the summit. Kim called it an eyesore. Kim made similar comments in a party meeting at the end of the year.
