UK Indian Student: After the death of Mitkumar Patel in London, a relative residing in the city has launched a GoFundMe online fundraiser with the aim of raising funds to send the deceased body back to India.
UK Indian Student Dead Body Found In Thames River
The body of the 23-year-old Indian student, Mitkumar Patel, who had gone missing last month, was found in the Thames River in London. Mitkumar Patel, an Indian student, had arrived in Britain in September for higher studies. Information about his disappearance surfaced on November 17, two months after he went missing. The Metropolitan Police in London began the search for the student, and on November 21, four days after receiving the information, the police recovered Mitkumar Patel's dead body from the Thames River.
According to the Evening Standard, the Indian student was supposed to go to Sheffield Hallam University on November 20 to start his degree and a job at Amazon. When he did not return home from his daily walk on November 17, his relatives became worried and reported his disappearance to the police. Later, they discovered that he had left his home without taking his set of keys. The police found no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
Appeal through GoFundMe Online Fundraiser
After the death of Mitkumar Patel, his relative named Parth Patel, who resides in London, has launched a GoFundMe online fundraiser. The purpose of this fundraiser is to collect funds to send the deceased body back to India. During this period, approximately £500,000 has been collected in the past week. Parth Patel, appealing through the GoFundMe online fundraiser, stated that Mitkumar Patel was a 23-year-old young man who came to Britain for higher studies on September 19, 2023. He belonged to a farmer's family, and his entire family resides in the village.
He went missing on November 17, 2023. On November 21, the police found his body in the water near Canary Wharf. This was a tragic incident for all of us. Therefore, we have decided to raise funds to help his family and to send his body to India. After the decision, all the funds collected will be safely transferred to the deceased's family.
